Tsavo East

Tsavo East National Park

Tsavo is nearly 22,000km2, being the largest national park in Kenya and one of the largest in the world. Tsavo East is slightly larger and generally flat, with dry plains across which the Galana River flows. The park also known as “the theatre of the wild” is famous with its dust-red African Elephants that like rolling, wallowing and spraying themselves with the red dusty soils at the park.

Tsavo East is home to the “Big Five” (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhino), with elephants being particularly prominent. The park is also known for its large herds of buffalos, zebras, and antelopes. Other Attractions: Aruba Dam, Lugard’s Falls, Yatta Plateau, Galana River, Mudanda Rock
